You see them everywhere - whether holding a potted tree, or filled with thick bath towels, books/magazines (a TON of magazines/books), etc... These antique gathering baskets are turning up everywhere. And it's not surprising -- they are so unique and versatile, with just enough of that edgy, rusty look that we love. Here's a FABULOUS idea: turn one upside down and have it made into a ceiling light pendant/fixture. Oh my.... now THAT looks incredible. And when you consider the MAJOR design impact a light like that would make in a room and how little one of those little light cord/conversion kits cost at the home supply places... that is a relatively inexpensive way to get a lot of design "bang for your buck"! They are old -- so do not expect "reproduction-esque perfection". There is rust (although not an objectionable amount) and they have character.
