A fulfilling, lovely life is not a complicated life, simply a life lived with grace, style, and beauty. It need not cost a fortune to live beautifully (nor should it) as it is the simple but important details we pay attention to in our homes that make coming home each day a tranquil, lovely experience for us and for our family. Details such as using beautiful dinnerware every day for our family -- not just for company -- says we relish everyday as a 'special occasion.' Choosing to always have a beautiful, elegant scent filling the air via a fabulous candle says we are as important as 'company' and that every day should smell great! If you're sending a note to someone (and may I encourage you to send one the old fashioned way -- handwritten!), do so on beautiful notecards rather than on a sheet of notebook paper borrowed from your child's backpack. Store the everyday bath or kitchen "essentials" in unexpectedly lovely containers. Do you use cottonballs or Q-Tips daily? Treat yourself to a visual pleasure by storing them in a fabulous French enamel canister. The motto of our store is "Elegant Essentials & Sensible Luxuries". This means basically to add style to what is necessary and to never forget to treat yourself and your family to the occasional "luxury" -- you and they are worth it. If you've ever had to go through a friend or loved one's belongings at the end of their life only to find so many lovely, beautiful things that just never got used or were always being saved for "special occasions" -- no doubt you were struck by how sad it is that they saved all those items of beauty for "another time" or for "special occasions", when all the while they could have been out everday being used and loved. This is how we create a legacy and family memories. Our store is about just that. You are not guaranteed a certain length of life, so use your treasured possesions NOW. Why not serve your hot dog dinner tonight on your 'good' china. Yes, your family will wonder what happened to you, but that's OK. Go ahead and have a good laugh about it.
